Gunner is a 2021 AQHA Buckskin Roan Stallion whose pedigree, presence, and work ethic mark him as an exciting young prospect for Team Penley. Proudly owned by Amy Pierce and Tim Tipton, Gunner blends proven bloodlines with a thoughtful, forward-minded approach to his training.

Suspiciously Metallic is out of Suspicious Blonde—a granddaughter of Cutter Bill, by Metallic Malice—Gunner carries a lineage rich in cow sense, athleticism, and durability. He is also a half-brother to Cutters Chrome Cat, the 2023 Reserve Futurity Champion, tying his future directly to a proven standard of performance within the program.

Since October 2023, Gunner has been in training with Penley Horsemanship, where he has consistently demonstrated a strong desire to work and a natural aptitude for learning. At this stage of his development, the focus has been on building a correct foundation—softness, balance, confidence, and understanding. Gunner has met each step with maturity, curiosity, and an eagerness that bodes well for his progression.

Physically, Gunner is athletic and correct, with the scope and coordination to develop into a powerful mounted shooting horse as strength and experience continue to build. Mentally, he is engaged and willing—showing the kind of focus and try that trainers value when mapping a futurity path. He doesn’t rush the process; he absorbs it.

With his pedigree, mindset, and early progress, Gunner’s trajectory is set toward the 2026 CMSA Futurity, where he is expected to step into the pen with both preparation and purpose. He is very much a young stallion with his best chapters still ahead.
