Poetic Justice, known as PJ, is a 2022 Arabian futurity prospect in the early, intentional stages of his career. Just starting his second year under saddle, PJ represents exactly what Team Penley looks for in a young horse: a solid foundation, a thoughtful mind, and the kind of raw potential that rewards patience and correct development.
Brought along by Penley Horsemanship, PJ is being developed slowly and correctly, with an emphasis on confidence, softness, and understanding his job. At this stage, the focus is not speed or pressure—but building trust, balance, and curiosity. He’s showing maturity for his age, taking new concepts in stride, and demonstrating a willingness that makes trainers optimistic about his future.
PJ is related to the notorious Mick, and while it’s far too early to compare careers, the resemblance shows in flashes: a bright eye, quick awareness, and an innate forward curiosity. He’s athletic without being tense, alert without being reactive—traits that bode well for a future in the mounted shooting futurity pen as his education progresses.
Physically, PJ is built to grow. He carries himself with a light, athletic frame and a stride that hints at scope once strength and confidence continue to develop. Mentally, he’s observant and engaged—watching, learning, and processing rather than rushing. He’s the kind of young horse that makes you slow down because you don’t want to miss what he’ll become.
There’s a quiet optimism around PJ. The energy is there—waiting, gathering, building, ready to arrive when the timing is right. PJ is very much in that phase, and the future feels wide open.
PJ represents the beginning of a story: Started correctly. Developed with intention. Built for what’s next.
