CUTTERS CHROME CAT

Chrome is a 2019 AQHA gelding whose talent, pedigree, and heart make him one of the most special horses in the Team Penley program. Owned by Tim Tipton and Amy Pierce, Chrome is a home-raised colt whose development reflects years of thoughtful breeding, correct horsemanship, and purposeful training.

Started under saddle during his 3-year-old year by Penley Horsemanship, Chrome was built carefully from the ground up with an emphasis on softness, confidence, and correctness. That foundation carried seamlessly into Cowboy Mounted Shooting, where he was shown by Jared Penley and quickly proved himself as a top-tier competitor.

Chrome’s résumé speaks for itself. He captured the 2023 Reserve Futurity Champion title and has gone on to earn numerous state and regional championships, establishing himself as a consistent, high-level performer. In the pen, he is smooth, powerful, and deliberate—able to stay locked in at speed while maintaining the composure and accuracy that separate good horses from great ones.

Bred for cow sense and athleticism, Chrome is out of a Peppy San Badger / Cutter Bill mare and sired by Automatic Cat—a pedigree that shows up clearly in his work ethic, body control, and natural feel. He is quick-footed yet thoughtful, forward yet rateable, and always willing to give more when asked.
